For the past few days, Ethan has been in Fort Wayne, IN for the Indiana Music Education Association (IMEA) Honor Concert Band, rehearsing with a select group of high school students from across the state.
With honor bands, students receive the music about one month prior to the honor band weekend, practice it individually, and are expected to be prepared with their part before fine tuning it together. During this time, there are only 6-8 hours of rehearsal as a full ensemble before performing it for an audience. Most of these students have not met or performed with each other but their dedication to music, discipline, and leadership is evident, from the start of their first rehearsal, with how they brought the music to life in the final performance.
The IMEA Honor Concert Band performed today at the 2019 Indiana Music Education Association Conference in front of many families, music educators, and IMEA Board Members, to name a few. Congratulations Ethan on your hard work and excellent performance!
